I had a few like that, and they do mean a lot for our self-esteem back then.

My teachers told me I would be nothing when I grew up and would end up in prison. My parents said the same. I had learning disabilities and instead of addressing them my teachers and parents treated me as if I was a bad kid and was punished in extreme manners. I had a teacher that for an entire year made me and the actual bad kids fight each other often and this was 6th grade. I never saw recess ever after the first week of school because that is when I would start not doing homework. I sat in class every day just staring holing to not get attention drawn to me by students or teachers. I was purposely embarrassed by most teachers. I would constantly get beat at home for answering I don’t know to the questions about school like why do I just sit there. I really didn’t know. The just pushed me through each year. The last year I completed was 8th. I left home at 14 and lived on the streets of DC. I’m 46 now
