Everyone is focused on the end goal, the reward, the success, not the thing they are supposed to be passionate about that they are sharing on youtube. Making fancy shots is a good way to cover up a lack of actual content, but that will only keep them hooked for a little while. Or let's say it works. Then you are chained to making a bunch of fancy bullshit because that is what they expect. My favorite channel, EdibleAcres, shoots on a smartphone and it doesn't matter at all because I'm there for their actual content about natural gardening. They had slow build up over 10 years, but now they have over 100k subs and make much of their living from simple valuable videos.

EVERYONE is doing all this pointless fancy bullshit instead of focusing on content so they all look like the same fancy vapid nonsense.

I do not think B-Roll will work with my type of channel. Possibly if I am talking about a book, which is rare.

I watched think media videos since early 2021. At that time, my channel has around 20 subs. Now 6 months later and after 100K subs, I'm still learning new stuff from you guys. Thank you.

I never thought about shooting in 60fps/120fps (for smoother footage), and then slowing it back down to 24fps in post. Definitely going to try that in my next video. Thanks for the tip!

This is a great beginner tutorial on how to shoot b-roll, but you're doing your audience a disservice to suggest that b-roll is the crux of interesting and exciting videos. The cadence and flow of your dialogue is WAY more important. B-roll cannot fix poorly paced, boring content, but it absolutely can enhance good content that is well paced. Think team, what are your thoughts?

B roll does make a huge difference when it comes to video. I always use B roll . It's okay to talk in your videos but yes it does effective the retention time. I love making my own B roll more compared to graphic ones pre made however they both do well except making my own B roll takes way more time. I love using my small turn table that's electronic for some B roll footage, has done great in my videos.

I’ve got Epidemic Sounds which I use for my geopolitical content and it’s pretty good. The fact that you can split the songs into their different layered parts is really useful.

I guess shooting different spead or angles, if just you are talking in front of a camera or cellphone, how to do it? It doesn't make much difference I guess😆

The Shot List is something that needs to be highlighted here, pre-planning is the core of a good video. You never want to shoot random things to use it in your video edits and hope it works!

I’ve noticed viewers are not watching my videos all the way thru. I am sure it’s because of my niche (all about gluten free foods/products for Celiacs) is very narrow and maybe it’s also boring. Some things I will take in consideration.
