THIS IS TO PEOPLE WHO CAN GIVE ADVICE FOR STARTING YOUTUBE OR HAVE JOINED SEAN’S FREE YOUTUBE CLASS.

I’m a 17 year old girl and I have a problem. I notice how Sean says that we need a clear and proven niche. My plan for youtube is to film my entire weight loss journey with a kind of like documentary-style type filming and editing and make it a series on YouTube. Then after that, I will go from there. I will probably post “How to lose weight” videos etc and body confidence, self love, toxic friends and relationship videos etc. I hope that works.

I’m worried that my “Youtube weight loss series” videos will go to waste because they might not pop off. All those months of filming and editing it. I plan for it to be the first videos I upload to youtube because I’m not exactly comfortable with filming myself now before I have “lost weight” and I also don’t have content to film as I haven’t lost weight yet, learnt to fully love myself etc. I hope that makes sense. I have tried youtube before when I was younger like any other kid, but I didn’t know what I was doing really and stopped doing it, so I’m not brand new to YouTube. I’ve learnt how to film and edit now. I want this to be a career for me. I am so determined and passionate for YouTube. I have bought the Sony ZV-E10 after watching your videos, the manfrotto tripod, rode mic and more for this. It’s what I want. In AUD, (because i’m australian), $1,550 or USD $1134 went into my camera and equipment.

I wanted to know what you guys think. Should I film and edit my weightloss journey as planned over several months until I’m happy with how the videos are and upload it to youtube hoping it will go somewhere? This is what I intended to do. this is my ultimate plan. Let me know what you think 🙂

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I really appreciate it 🙂

I'm using a Samsung Note 10+. The s-pen makes a great remote shutter. I use a lavalier mic or a Blu Yeti depending on the setting.

Thanks Omar great content as always – I wanted the Lens Kit but it's £40 in the UK so looking for something else instead any thing you can recommend would be appraciated but I know how busy you all are.

what's that little what looked like a Mirror you had posted in the beginning of the video? it's at the 19-21 sec point and it looks like you have it attached to some mount. What IS that?

Thanks for the informative video and equipment recommendations! I appreciate it. So far I've recorded all of my videos on one or both of our smartphones… fortunately, we have multiple tripods. Now I just need to choose a mic.

*I don't have the space to use the mount dog soft top kit because of limited space but if I just bought the soft box itself and attach it to my Key light would that be the same effect w/o having to get the whole lighting kit? *

I will be honest: I am having trouble with simple lighting. Sometimes I want a particular mood and I can achieve that fine. However, when I just want to do a straight host segment, I am having trouble and mostly that is because my studio is a very small room. So, my lights and camera don't have a lot of places to go. UGH. Additionally, the "studio" itself is pulling double duty being my eBay room for the time being and that is making things even tougher. Sometimes things look great. Other times they don't look as great as they could have been.

Fine tuning the craft is work for sure. When it comes to editing, pre-production, and content, I am there. My channel has a comedy element to it as well and I have that down too— but the lighting/camera is making me crazy.

BTW: I love your videos. Your on screen presence is nice, and informative. You present yourself like a teacher, not a game show host and I love that.

I'm using an s21 ultra and before that it was an S10. The Pro video mode is a godsend as I can manually change iso, white balance, etc. It's like filmic pro, but built in. Also, that lens kit looks really good for the price. Will definitely be picking that up.

I uploaded 24 videos until now (10 "shorts" + 14 "regulars"). I shot them with my iPhone 4 and my iPad Air 2 . I truly think that focusing on studying and experimenting is the most important thing to do when we start. Better gear will come in the future if we work in the right way now 😊

Thanks for the encouragement! Can any recommend a good quality wireless Lavalier mic for iPhone 12pro? I have several different ones but still not crazy about the sound. I purchased a Rode Go wireless system but it did not work with my phone.

The best thing that you can do with your smartphone is getting a gimbal and external microphone. The camera quality is already high quality but stability and audio are crucial elements that need to be maintain in order to retain audience retention. It will be your best investment when filming on your smartphone.
